Call of Duty WWII Nazi Zombies: Tips and Tricks

Call of Duty WWII Nazi Zombies: tips and tricks

Unlike the Nazi zombies game mode on Call of Duty: World at War, there are a lot of elements to get used to in the Call of Duty WWII version. So for your reading pleasure, I have created yet another list, this time full of tips, tricks and advice on how to succeed in Nazi zombies.

Zombies.jpg

Schnellblitz (Fast Reload).

This is one of six blitz upgrades available for purchase in the laboratory, and increases your reload speed for a cost of 3,000 jolts. This upgrade is very useful period, but especially effective when you have a slow reloading weapon, i.e. the MG42 or another LMG.

Lebenblitz (Revive).

This is another of the six blitz upgrades available for purchase at the beginning area, and increases your revive speed for a cost of 500 jolts. This upgrade is a necessity, and makes you a valuable teammate, especially in the later rounds, when your teammates are more likely to get downed. Also, generally speaking, if you revive your teammates then they’re more likely to repay the favor. Just something to bear in mind.

Kugelblitz (Stopping Power).

Another blitz upgrade that is available for purchase in the pub near the tower area. This one increases the damage of all your weapons for a cost of 2,000 jolts. In the earlier rounds this isn’t essential, but in the later rounds when the zombies are tougher, combine this upgrade with a pack-a-punched weapon and you’ll be almost impossible to stop.

Despite being able to purchase a total of four blitz upgrades, I think these three are the key upgrades that should definitely be purchased, but by all means if you have some extra jolts then purchase a fourth to enhance your character even more.

Loadouts.

In the lobby before you start the game, there is a section called the solder section and this is where you will find loadouts. This is where you can customize your loadout with multiple elements. You have to choose out of four loadouts, offense, control, support, medic, each possessing a different special ability. I think there are only two worth having, the offense loadout, and the medic loadout. But the more variety on your team the better, so consider this when you and your team are choosing your loadouts. The offense loadout gives you the ability to fire their weapon without expanding any ammo, even if the clip is empty, and without having to reload for a period of time. And the medic loadout gives you the ability to be invisible from, and ignored by, all zombies for a period of time. These two loadouts, in my opinion, are the best options.

Also in the soldier section is weapon build kits, and this is where you can customize every weapon in the game, with multiple attachments such as scopes and grips, for whenever you acquire them while playing Nazi zombies.

Pack-a-Punch. (Look at Nazi Zombies Pack-a-Punch upgrade guide tab for more).

The Pack-a-Punch upgrade station is vital for succeeding in the later rounds of Nazi zombies, and is unlocked by completing the objectives in your notebook. It is located in the sewers section. To unlock the machine, you have to turn the power on by turning all three valves and then the generator on, then activate the fire trap to clear out the sewers, then finally activate the three pipes by hitting the red buttons at the end of them once you have travelled down them, and the Pack-a-Punch machine is yours. Now you have the instructions to unlock the Pack-a-Punch upgrade station, you should be able to survive the later rounds and succeed.

Purchasing ammo.

If you ever find yourself running low on ammo and don’t want to wait for a Taschen Voll, more commonly known as max ammo, then you can purchase ammo for your weapon from the same place you bought it. You cannot purchase ammo for weapons obtained from the mystery weapon box, unless it has been upgraded at the Pack-a-Punch station, so in this case you can purchase ammo for it at the Pack-a-Punch station for a cost of 4,000 jolts. All Pack-a-Punched weapons cost 4,000 jolts to refill on ammo, whether you’re purchasing it from where you bought the weapon or not.

Self-Revive.

A new feature to this zombies is the self-revive ability, which funnily enough gives you the ability to revive yourself when downed. This is a consumable and can be awarded to you through zombie supply drops, so use them wisely when you have them because not all supply drops grant you a self-revive.

Armor.

Armor is available to purchase for 500 jolts to start with but, it increases in price each time you purchase it. The armor stations are located in the Morgue, the Salt Mines, the Riverbank, the Village Square, and the Lab Locker Room. It gives you the ability to take three hits before your health starts to decrease, and is a must especially in the later rounds when the more powerful boss enemies start to appear.

Aim for the head.

One final note, do your best to aim for the head. This will kill zombies more quickly, especially the boss enemies, and conserve your ammo.

If you have any tips, tricks or advice that you think might be useful for people playing Nazi zombies, then please feel free to share them.

Call of Duty WWII Nazi Zombies: My Favorite Weapons

Call of Duty WWII Nazi Zombies: my favorite weapons

I’ve compiled another list of weapons, based on my personal preference, for the Nazi Zombies game mode available on Call of Duty WWII. While the weapons listed are my own personal preferences, they are some of the best weapons available in this game mode. So if you’re looking to get to those later rounds, try and get your hands on these weapons.

MG42.

MG42.jpg

Like all LMG’s (Light Machine Gun), the MG42 is very slow to reload which could prove costly. However, it possesses incredible damage to zombies, even in the later rounds when they grow stronger and tougher to kill. Unfortunately, this weapon is not available for purchase and is only obtainable through the mystery weapon box, so keep your fingers crossed when using it.

MP-40.

MP-40

Unlike most SMG’s (submachine gun), the MP-40 does not sacrifice speed and fire rate for power and damage as it possesses both qualities quite substantially, proving itself to be a reliable and almost necessary weapon to succeed in Nazi zombies. Thankfully, this weapon is available to purchase near the Pack-a-Punch station, so there’s no need to waste your jolts on the mystery weapon box hoping you’ll get lucky and be rewarded with it.

1911.

1911.jpg

I’m sure most of you are probably questioning this choice, but please allow me to explain. The standard issue 1911, yes, is pretty much useless against zombies, even in the first round. However, if you complete enough of the objectives in your notebook you will unlock the Pack-a-Punch station, which you can find out more about at my other blogCall of Duty WWII Nazi Zombies: tips and tricks”, and upgrade your pistol so you have akimbo (two pistols, one in each hand), with larger magazines and explosive rounds. I personally really like the 1911 when upgraded, but 1. Be sure to shoot at the ground, when using them, for full effectiveness, and 2. Be careful not to shoot to close to yourself and risk getting downed.

BAR.

BAR.jpg

The BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle), is without a doubt an all round and complete weapon. The game describes it as an automatic rifle with moderate recoil and fast fire rate. It has a fast reload speed, and maintains very solid damage. Like I said, it is the whole package in terms of being an all round weapon, and is a great option for the Nazi Zombies game type. It is available for purchase in the Morgue for 1500 jolts.

What to stay away from.

I highly recommend staying clear of sniper rifles and explosive weapons like Bazookas. Snipers might be effective in the earlier rounds when the zombie count is low, but when you get to the later rounds it will definitely prove ineffective when there is a high number of zombies. Similarly, Bazooka type weapons might be appealing with their explosiveness and firepower, but in the later rounds you get overwhelmed with zombies fast, so the last thing you want is a weapon that takes an eternity to reload and only holds a couple of rounds.

Similar to my weapons list for multiplayer, please feel free to share your favorite or least favorite weapons for the Nazi zombies game mode.

Call of Duty WWII Multiplayer: My Favorite Weapons

Call of Duty WWII Multiplayer: my favorite weapons

With a huge selection of 25 primary weapons to choose from on Call of Duty WWII, I’ve comprised a list of four of my personal favorites to help you when playing the multiplayer beta. Not only are they my preferred weapons, but their stats will confirm why they are my weapons of choice.

M1941.

M1941

As you can see, the M1941 is an automatic rifle with a fast fire rate and moderate damage, and for the first rifle you are given on the game, its not too shabby. For one, its accuracy far outshines it’s not so accurate rating of five. And with fairly high damage, it won’t take too many shots to kill your enemy. The only downside, it is relatively big and heavy for a rifle so the draw is not the quickest. So perhaps whilst using the M1941, don’t go charging in like it’s an SMG.

STG44.

STG44

This is the second of the two rifles on the list, unlocked at level 15, which they describe as an automatic rifle with modest damage and low recoil. I can certainly vouch for its “modest damage” title. But, its decent accuracy rating, combined with its low recoil, outweigh its low damage rating. The low recoil gives you the ability to keep your shots on target, meaning your enemy will go down in half a magazine or less, giving you enough rounds to kill multiple enemies.

PPSh-41.

PPSH-41

This weapon is probably the only SMG (submachine gun) you will need until you unlock the MP-40, which is available after Airborne Prestige one. It is an automatic SMG with a large magazine and modest damage. Its lightweight which makes it quick to draw, paired with its large magazine, makes it extremely convenient to use when running around trying to kill numerous enemies quickly.

M1903.

M1903

The M1903 is a heavy bolt-action sniper rifle that has the largest one shot one kill zone, hence its appeal. Before you unlock the Kar98k, which is available after you prestige the Mountain Division, either the Lee Enfield or the M1903 would be the right way to go if you fancy yourself as a long range soldier. The Lee Enfield gives you slightly more accuracy, whereas the M1903 provides more damage. I sway towards the M1903, because the Lee Enfield’s capability to deliver a one shot one kill only applies if you hit the torso or above. The lower accuracy rating of the M1903 doesn’t discourage my use of it. Like the old saying goes, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people. The accuracy comes from the operator.

If you disagree, agree, or have any other weapons that you really like and think should be on the list, don’t hesitate to share them.

The historical significance of these iconic multiplayer map locations

The historic significance of these iconic multiplayer map locations

Activision and Sledgehammer Games did a fantastic job on instilling historical significance into their latest release through their multiplayer maps. Marty Morgan, (https://www.martinkamorgan.com/#intro), an author, historian, and technical advisor, who specializes in WWII history, worked closely with Sledgehammer Games advising them whilst creating Call of Duty WWII. He provided his knowledge for the creation of specific multiplayer maps set in locations such as Gibraltar, Pointe Du Hoc, and the Ardennes Forest. He also provided, in an interview, detailed summaries of the importance of these locations and why Activision and Sledgehammer Games chose to include them in the game,

Gibraltar.

Gibraltar

The first of the three historic locations, Gibraltar. Gibraltar was a place where the British Army had a presence and had fortified it, making it difficult for Germans to attack. Despite the British maintaining most of the control, the Government of Generalissimo Francisco of Spain controlled part of it, that was known as Spanish Gibraltar, with strong ties to Germany. This brought about a balance to this area, which was crucial in the outcome of the war because there would be no German domination of the Mediterranean area.

Pointe Du Hoc.

Pointe Du Hoc

Anyone who has knowledge of World War II will be familiar with Omaha Beach, the five-mile wide cove that has numerous bunker networks. Anti-ship batteries were implemented at locations along the beach; these were positions for artillery that could fire out into the open water, with sufficient caliber to damage battleships. Pointe Du Hoc was exactly that. It was located three miles west of Omaha Beach, with six of the best long-range cannons in the world, at that time, that were stolen from the French. These guns became pivotal in the eventual battle that took place at Pointe Du Hoc.

US Rangers conducted an amphibious landing, beneath the guns line of fire as the area has cliffs, with the plan of capturing the guns to prevent them being used on D-Day. They completed their two objectives, of neutralizing the battery and then setting up a roadblock, before 10 a.m. on D-Day. Out of the 225 Rangers that landed on Pointe Du Hoc, 79 men walked out under their own command.

The Ardennes Forest.

Ardennes Forest

This place was the location for the Battle of the Bulge that began on Dec. 16, 1944, and continued into Jan. 1945. It was the largest land battle the US military fought during World War II. This battle didn’t solely occur in the Ardennes Forest, but it was important to what eventually transpired from that battle. It started because Adolf Hitler launched a major offensive, with the hope of recapturing Antwerp in Belgium.

I’ve always been a fan of the Call of Duty games, ever since the first one was released in 2003. But the historical significance that the multiplayer maps in this release, possess, makes this game that much more meaningful. They’re attempting to recall stories with the iconic locations, and teach some history within the game, which makes the game so captivating.

If you know of any historical significance for any other multiplayer maps on Call of Duty WWII, then please feel free to share them.
